DALLAS - The 60-year-old former city attorney accused of shooting a father and son inside their financial business before turning the gun on himself has died.
Police spokesman Sr. Cpl. Kevin Janse said Tuesday that aggravated assault charges against Robert Mustard would not be filed.
Mustard, who worked for the city in the 1980s, had been hospitalized in intensive care. Police said he shot himself in the head after firing on Richard Smith, 66, and his 39-year-old son, Christopher Smith.
Both victims were in stable condition Tuesday. The elder Smith was shot four times in the legs. His son was shot in the head and neck.
Authorities believe Mustard was upset with the Smiths over financial dealings.
