Adam Conway, an off-duty Dallas police officer, was jailed in Rockwall on a DWI charge Saturday evening.

Rockwall police said they responded to an accident near the intersection of Highway 205 and Highway 276 at 6:18 p.m. to find that one of the drivers had allegedly been consuming alcoholic beverages.

That driver was identified as Conway, 38.

Rockwall police said a warrant was obtained for a blood sample from Conway and he was incarcerated at the city jail. The test results are pending.

Conway, who lives in Royse City, spent the night behind bars and was released Sunday morning after posting a $500 bond.

Rockwall police said Conway's case will be presented to the district attorney's office.

Dallas police placed Conway on administrative leave and he will be subject to an internal affairs investigation. He is a 15-year veteran of the department who works in the traffic unit.
