ARLINGTON -- After a three-hour, multi-agency planning meeting, Cowboys Stadium officials issued a press release Thursday that includes details for the public who wish to attend Navy SEAL veteran Chris Kyle's memorial service, scheduled for Monday at 1 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, and no cameras, bags, or "substantial handheld items" will be allowed in the stadium.
"In honor of the reverence this memorial service deserves, Chris Kyle’s family has asked that the general public not take photographs or record video during the ceremony," the release said. "No cameras will be allowed inside."
While attendees are not yet confirmed, military dignitaries are expected.
Parking is free, and attendees are encouraged to use Lots 1, 2, and 10, which are nearest to Randol Mill and N. Collins, and enter through Gates A and K on the north side of the stadium. The doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Monday.
"Chris, who was a long-standing Midlothian resident, was committed to serve and he fulfilled this mission every time he reached out to veterans, law enforcement and the community," the release read.
Tuesday, Kyle's body will be transported to Austin for burial. A massive procession along Interstate-35 is expected.
