GARLAND -- On Friday, it will mark two weeks since Hal Ticknor went missing.

The 82-year-old Garland man suffers from dementia, according to family members, and was last seen at home on Oct. 11.

Garland police are looking into tips from the weekend that Ticknor was spotted in the town of Corinth. One tipster told investigators Ticknor was spotted crossing the street and possibly entering a McDonald's in the area.

The police department is currently looking at surveillance video from the street and at the fast-food chain. Officer Joe Harn tells News 8 they’re having a hard time getting a clear picture of the subject’s face in the video, and could not say with certainty whether it was Ticknor.

In the meantime, family members hold out hope with the help of the members of the First United Methodist Church in Garland.

“People are just moved in their heart to help,” said Pastor Clay Womack of First United Methodist.

Every day for the last 13 days, a cadre of church members go searching for him. Every tip and every potential sighting gives hope to the mission.

“Mrs. Ticknor would say that loving attention, in every sort of way, keeps us hopeful and keeps the spirits up,” Womack said.

Volunteers have divided North Texas into grids and the searches have gone day and night, on the ground and even in the air.

“It’s just that someone needs to open their eyes and see something for us, because we don’t know where to look,” said Hal’s wife, Ann Ticknor.

Mr. Ticknor is believed to be driving a silver 2007 Chevy Equinox with Texas plate 599-SNC. Ticknor is described as a white male, 5-foot-11, 170 lbs., with silver hair and green eyes.

If you have any information on Hal’s whereabouts you are encouraged to call Garland police at 972.205.1628.
