CEDAR HILL -- Police arrested a 16-year-old Cedar Hill High School student Thursday on charges of making threats and harassment.

Investigators believe the teen sent text messages that resulted in the lockdown of the high school for several hours Wednesday while the campus was swept with bomb-sniffing dogs.

The suspect was transported to the Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center Thursday, and Cedar Hill High Principal Tammy Mariani said the school will pursue due process toward expulsion of the student or 180 days, according to a City of Cedar Hill press release.
