DALLAS - An unforeseen water problem has shut down TxDOT's camera system.

A sprinkler system broke around midnight in the agency's traffic management center in Dallas, which caused a switch to malfunction.

The agency uses the camera system to keep traffic flowing smoothly and respond to potential trouble spots.

Right now, they're unable to switch from one camera to another. Until the system is fixed, the live image from a camera on Interstate 20 at Fish Creek is the only one visible.

It's expected to take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks before the cameras are fully functioning.
