DECATUR -- Texas Rangers found bomb making materials and documents with instructions on how to build a bomb in the trunk of the black Cadillac Evan Ebel was driving before he was killed in a shootout with authorities last Thursday.

Ebel shot Montague County sheriff's deputy James Boyd three times before speeding away, crashing, and ultimately being shot dead by authorities. Boyd was wearing a protective vest and is expected to recover.

Gun evidence has tied Ebel to the Mar. 19 murder of Tom Clements, the director of Colorado's prison system.

According to a Department of Public Safety search warrant, Ebel's car contained maps, bomb making materials, bomb building instructions, letters from a person named "Nate," a home security video system, zip ties, and a blood-stained pair of pants, among other items.

Evidence found in the car may tie Ebel to another murder, as well.

A Domino's Pizza bag and box were found in the truck of the car, along with a Domino's shirt and visor. Colorado authorities have been looking for a suspect in the murder of Denver Domino's Pizza driver Nathan Leon, 27. Leon's body was found in a ditch in Golden, Colorado on Mar. 17.
