TRAVIS COUNTY -- Police have recovered the bodies of 31-year-old Josefina Rodriguez and her eight-month-old son, Jay, from Onion Creek.

Rodriguez's body was recovered Friday afternoon from Onion Creek. Her son's body was found nearby a few hours later.

The Travis County Sheriff's Office has been searching for Rodriguez and her son after they went missing following Thursday's floods.

Travis County officials say they believe Rodriguez was driving over Onion Creek on Bluff Springs Road around 4:30 a.m. Thursday when her SUV was swept away in flood water. The SUV was found empty downstream around 12:45 p.m.

The Travis County Sheriff's Office says her family notified them that she and her baby were missing on Thursday, but search efforts couldn't begin until Friday.

Family members say Rodriguez was on her way to drop off her son with her mother-in-law before heading to work at Dell.
