RICE, Texas — Youngsters in Rice returned to the classroom Monday for the first time since a tornado ripped through their school on October 24.
Newly-released surveillance video shows debris swirling around outside as the storm hit.
Another camera inside captured items flying in the hallway of the Rice Intermediate School as part of a wall and the roof were ripped off by the storm's fury.
The tornado damaged one side of the building, but classes are still being held on the other side for third through fifth graders.
While some parents have expressed concern about their children's safety, engineers maintain the building is safe.
