The creators of Gridpins.com are still in awe of their idea coming to life.
This group is young. Two guys are still in college, one just graduated, and yet they are about to launch what they hope will be a big online hit.
“I think this is a new way to get your stuff out there for everyone to see,” said Alex Craig.
Gridpins.com, allows you to post music, photography, film, documents, images, even art all by location.
Each pin represents a certain kind of media. So, if you want to find a band near you, or an artist, it is only a click away.
“This is a way to get discovered,” said Chirs Mudd. “If I am a local band and I am playing a show in town this weekend. How do I get the word out, besides on Facebook.”
This trio said uploading items on YouTube, means they can get lost in the pack.
This method separates and organizes the uploads by the type and the location.
“Not only that, you can put your music, exactly where it's happening,” Mudd said. “You can put up an image flyer, have videos up, you can blog about it, anything like that.”
“There is a huge user base that we feel like we need to tap,” said David Wirth.
For now these three work out of a garage. Just three guys, a computer, now an investor, and friends curious for the launch.
“They are really eager, they ask me every day, is it up yet, is it up yet,” Wirth said. “Doesn't seem like there is anything like this out there, so we think this can be really big.”
The website has an expected launch date of March 12. You can sign up now, to get in on the start at gridpins.com.
