Armed man in camo forces workers into freezer, robs San Antonio IHOP

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are searching for an armed robber who forced IHOP employees into a freezer while he broke into the the restaurant safe.

Investigator said the robbery happened just after 4 a.m. Monday at the IHOP on Loop 1604 and Bandera Road.

Witnesses said the robber was wearing a mask, a camouflage shirt and tan pants.

The robber walked in and pointed a handgun at the manager and then forced all the employees into the freezer and locked it.

Police said the robber knew the layout of the restaurant, and also knew the combination to the lock on the safe.

He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No arrests have been made.
