MoJo: Artwork multi-use at Dallas Park
It's a massive structure that doesn't quite fit in Opportunity Park near Fair Park in Dallas. And to a certain degree that is the point. MoJo: Painted parking garage directs Arts Distrcit
From I-45 and throughout the Dallas Arts District it is virtually impossible to miss a massive mural on the side of a parking garage at the Plaza of the Americas. The work was done in 1997 as part of a competition by the Downtown Improvement District. Artists Chris Arnold and Jeff Garrison of eyecon, inc. painted the mural on the north side of the garage. Walter Holmes wanted to do something with the first, old crane at his business near Corsicana. So he mounted it to hang a flag. When he put the crane up, everyone said it looked like a fishing pole.
