Wednesday's Child: Meet 12-year-old Ken

Ken has a very mild temperament and is eager to please others. He enjoys playing and watching all kinds of sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys.

If the third time's the charm, then we at WFAA are extra excited about Ken's chances for adoption! This will be the third time we've featured the young boy as a Wednesday's Child.

While he continues to grow, there is one thing that doesn't change about him. He's only 12 years old and already in foster care way too long.

“I like playing basketball. I have seven sisters and one brother and I've been in foster care four years," said Ken.

We first met Ken in October 2015. His smile and sweet demeanor lit up the room.

Fast forward to September 2016, and we featured Ken again. Still adorable, this time he opened up about his pain and why he could never go back to his biological home.

"Because I might get hurt with my mom,” he said “And my sisters might get hurt or I might fail in school and my mom might go to jail and I might not have anyone to live with."

Today, Kevin is much taller and still talking about the siblings he only sees once a month.

“It just makes me real happy to see them because I'm their bigger brother and I like to take care of my little sisters and brothers," he said.

Ken has a very mild temperament and is eager to please others. He enjoys playing and watching all kinds of sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys.

"I've been watching every game that they've been playing," he said.

Ken also values an education. He's a reader and his two favorites subjects are math and science.

"I get to learn multiplications and other stuff. In science we get to do experiments, we get to play games on our phone and do quizzes," he said.

For almost four years, Ken has walked down a lonely road, yet his smile radiates a room. Over the years he's grown tremendously, but one thing that hasn't changed is his sweet spirit.

Ken needs a family who will toss a football with him, help him with his studies and more than anything love him unconditionally.

He's waited long enough.
