TNT is pulling the plug on The Librarians, but that doesn't mean the show's run is over.

Executive producer Dean Devlin announced the show's cancellation to fans via Twitter late Thursday, but promised to try to find a new home for the fantasy-adventure series, which has had a four-season run on TNT. The cable network confirmed the cancellation.

"Just got the official call. TNT has cancelled (The Librarians) - I will immediately begin the process of trying to move the show elsewhere. Please keep your fingers crossed for us!" he tweeted.

The series, which was spun off from a popular TNT movie franchise, focuses on an ancient organization that protects the world from a hidden magical reality.

Rebecca Romijn, Christian Kane, Lindy Booth and John Harlan Kim play protectors of the world's mystical treasures in the series, with John Larroquette as their caretaker. Noah Wyle, who starred in the related films, also appeared in numerous episodes in the most recent season, which concluded in February.
