How one pothole caused a big headache for drivers in Northwest Dallas

One neighbor said she saw ten vehicles parked on their street with flat tires.

Dallas — Late Sunday night and early Monday morning, several cars pulled off West Northwest Highway with flat tires. It was west of Inwood Road in a construction zone.

“It sounded like somebody slapped the back of my bumper,” said Michael Fisk, who commutes to work every morning. "So just a really loud thump.”

Fisk instantly knew he had a flat tire. He said this is his third flat tire driving in Dallas.

He made the first right turn he could find onto Rockbrook Drive and saw another woman pulled over with a flat tire. Fisk put on his spare and by the time he was finished, he saw six others pull over with the same issue. He said all of those drivers hit a large pothole that damaged their tires.

Rachel Frisbie lives in the neighborhood. She said several cars had severe slashes on Sunday night as well. She saw some vehicles with two damaged tires.

Another neighbor said she saw ten vehicles parked on their street with flat tires.

“It was really weird because it was just one after another, after another coming through the neighborhood,” Frisbie said.

Construction crews have now fixed the pothole.

The Texas Department of Transportation has not yet responded to a request for comment.
