Police arrested one person after an alleged threat to a Grand Prairie ISD middle school was posted to social media.

The post, which was uploaded to Instagram, appeared to threaten Ronald Reagan Middle School.

Chelsea Kretz with Grand Prairie PD said law enforcement worked through the night to determine where the post came from and whether it was valid.

The suspect, who wasn't arrested on campus, is a juvenile and won't be identified.

Students on the campus are safe, Kretz said.

"We have taken appropriate security measures at Reagan Middle School today as well as all schools in our city. The safety and security of our students, faculty, and staff are of utmost importance. Threats will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law in Grand Prairie."

The FBI assisted in the investigation.
