MINNEAPOLIS (March 13, 2011) – Taste of the NFL, a non-profit dedicated to kicking hunger
in America, will return to North Texas this month to present a total of $300,000 in funding between two local food banks. Please be our guest at this special press conference.

WHAT:          Taste of the NFL Press Conference to celebrate an unprecedented donation to the North Texas Food Bank and the Tarrant County Food Bank.

Hosted by Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief, Scott Murray and Wayne Kostroski (Taste of the NFL Founder).

WHO:             Special guests will include former Dallas Cowboys Legends Daryl Johnston and
Chad Hennings, Chef Kent Rathbun (Abacus, Blue Plate Kitchen, etc.), Kit
Sawers (VP of special events for the North Texas Super Bowl Host Committee),
                        among others.

ABOUT:         This record-breaking donation level was made possible through generous support from sponsors including PepsiCo, E & J Gallo Winery, North Texas Cadillac Dealers, Macy’s, Glazer’s Distributors, Swanson, Heritage Auctions and Super Bowl XLV Host Committee. Media partners included the Fort Worth Star Telegram and Indulge Magazine.

Founded in 1992 by Wayne Kostroski (2010 James Beard Humanitarian of the Year), the Minneapolis-based Taste of the NFL has distributed more than $11 million to local and national food banks across the country.

Through its “Party with a Purpose” held at the Fort Worth Convention Center on February 5, Taste of the NFL raised a record-breaking $1 million for hunger relief. While the largest percentage of the money raised benefits the local food bank(s) in that year’s Super Bowl host city, a large portion of the remaining money raised is also distributed among food banks in the other 31 NFL markets.
