Animals at risk as Young County shelter faces closure

GRAHAM, TX — Dozens of animals are at risk of being euthanized as the Humane Society of Young County faces closure due to financial problems.

"These animals may have been surrendered because of financial reasons, age, time, health, or may have been strays living on the streets," read a post from the shelter. "We provide a safe and comfortable environment for these animals to thrive until they find their forever home."

As the shelter struggles, a GoFundMe has been set up in the hopes to keep its doors open. The shelter says their currently housing 87 dogs, 50 cats and one rabbit.
