(AP) — Troy Daniels hit a 3-pointer with 11.9 seconds left and the Houston Rockets narrowed Portland's first-round playoff advantage to 2-1 with a 121-116 overtime victory over the Trail Blazers on Friday night. James Harden broke out of a slump with a career playoff-best 37 points and Dwight Howard added 24 points and 14 rebounds for the Rockets.

(AP) — Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and two assists in his return from injury, and the Anaheim Ducks scored four power-play goals in a 6-2 victory over the Dallas Stars on Friday night to take a 3-2 lead in their first-round series. Jamie Benn and Shawn Horcoff scored for the Stars, who couldn't score on seven power-play chances. Game 6 is Sunday in Dallas.

Jose Altuve had three hits and drove in a run for Houston, which has lost 10 of its last 12 games and allowed 22 runs in the first two games of this four-game series.
SEATTLE (AP) — Robinson Cano hit a two-run double in the sixth inning, Justin Smoak had a two-run double in the eighth and the Seattle Mariners defeated the Texas Rangers 6-5 on Friday night. Cano's double was the only time the Mariners got to Texas starter Robbie Ross Jr., but they battered reliever Neal Cotts (1-2) in the eighth inning, scoring four times to end the Rangers' win streak at three games.
