NEW YORK (AP) — The Heisman Trophy winner will be announced this evening in New York. The odds-on favorite is Florida State quarterback Jameis (JAYM'-ihs) Winston, who has led the Seminoles to a perfect season and spot in the BCS championship game.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The annual Army-Navy game is being played today in Philadelphia. The Midshipmen are 7-4 while Army is 3-8. Navy has won the last 11 games in the series.

UNDATED (AP) — Alabama has announced on its Twitter account that Nick Saban has reached "a long-term agreement" to remain with the school as football coach. Last year, Saban received an eight-year deal worth about $5.6 million annually. He's led the Tide to three national championships and is preparing his team for the Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma.

UNDATED (AP) — Arizona, the top team in the Associated Press men's basketball poll, is playing at Michigan today. The Wildcats are a perfect 10-0 on the season while the Wolverines are 6-3.

DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Rockies have signed first baseman Justin Morneau (MOHR'-noh) to a two-year, $12.5 million contract. Morneau is a four-time All-Star and a lifetime .277 hitter with 221 home runs and 863 RBIs.
