UNDATED (AP) — The biggest games of the day in college football feature the top two teams in the BCS standings, No. 1 Florida State and No. 2 Ohio State. The Seminoles are playing Duke this evening for the ACC Championship while the Buckeyes are facing Michigan State in the Big Ten title game. If FSU and OSU win, odds are they'll be headed to the BCS Championship game.

UNDATED (AP) — In college football coaching news, Auburn has given Gus Malzahn a new six-year contract to stay with the Tigers. It was also announced yesterday that Boise State coach Chris Petersen is leaving for the Washington Huskies.

UNDATED (AP) — Several big names moved to new teams in baseball yesterday. Robinson Cano (kan-OH') is reportedly leaving the Yankees for Seattle while Curtis Granderson is leaving the Pinstripes for the cross-town Mets. To replace help replace Granderson and Cano the Yankees have reportedly worked out a deal for free agent Carlos Beltran.

UNDATED (AP) — The World Champion Red Sox are retaining the services of Mike Napoli (NAP'-oh-lee). He has accepting a two-year, $32 million pact from Boston. Napoli hit .259 with 23 home runs and 92 RBIs this year, his first with the Red Sox.

DETROIT (AP) — In case you missed it last night, 16th-ranked Northern Illinois lost its first game of the season as Bowling Green beat the Huskies 47-27 in the Mid-American Conference championship game. Matt Johnson threw four of his career-high five touchdown passes in the first half for the Falcons while NIU quarterback Jordan Lynch ran for 126 yards and two TDs.
