PITTSBURGH (AP) — Jameis (JAY'-mihs) Winston was sensational in his first game as Florida State's starting quarterback, completing 25 of 27 passes for 356 yards and four touchdowns as the 11th-ranked Seminoles ripped Pittsburgh 41-13. Nick O'Leary was Winston's target for three TDs, and Rashard Greene grabbed eight passes for 126 yards and a score. Winston also had a five-yard touchdown run for the Seminoles, who finished with 533 yards of total offense while holding the Panthers to 297 yards.
NORTON, Mass. (AP) — Henrik Stenson leads FedEx Cup standings after capturing the Deutsche Bank Championship near Boston, finishing two shots ahead of Steve Stricker. Stenson holed a bunker shot for birdie on 17 en route to a 5-under-par 66 and a tournament record-tying 22-under total. Third-round leader Sergio Garcia closed with a 73 to finish in a fourth-place tie at 17-under, one shot behind Graham DeLaet.
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan says Robert Griffin III will be under center for next week's Monday night opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. Griffin is coming off major knee surgery and was cleared just last Thursday to play in Week 1 by his surgeon, Dr. James Andrews.
