MCKINNEY, Texas (AP) — A North Texas jury has awarded Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders primary custody of his two sons by estranged wife, Pilar, pending the couple's divorce.
The Collin County jury also awarded joint custody of their daughter, but the former Dallas Cowboys star can decide where she lives.
The Tuesday verdicts came after 2½ hours' deliberation and over a week of testimony in state district court in McKinney.
The children range from age 9 to 12. Sanders, now an NFL Network analyst, had fought his estranged wife for full custody of all three children.
The family had shared a mansion in Prosper, about 30 miles north of Dallas. An April scuffle led to an exchange of assault allegations, but a judge ruled that neither committed domestic violence.
