WASHINGTON (AP) — Boris Diaw scored 16 points last night to help the San Antonio Spurs defeat the Washington Wizards 118-92. Tiago Splitter and Tony Parker each added 15 points as the Spurs won their fourth straight over Washington. The Wizards are the 12th team in NBA history to start the season 0-12.

IRVING, Texas (AP) — Dallas Cowboys linebacker Bruce Carter is out for the season with a dislocated left elbow. Carter was injured in the Thanksgiving Day loss to Washington. The Cowboys say they filled Carter's roster spot by signing veteran Brady Poppinga.

DETROIT (AP) — The NFL won't suspend Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh (ehn-DAHM'-uh-kehn soo) for his actions in the Thanksgiving game against Houston. League spokesman Greg Aiello announced the decision yesterday on Twitter. Suh's left cleat hit Texans quarterback Matt Schaub in the groin after he threw a pass in last Thursday's game.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas coach Mack Brown says Case McCoy will start at quarterback this week against No. 7 Kansas State. Starter David Ash is listed as questionable for the No. 23 Longhorns after suffering a rib injury last week. McCoy led Texas on a late touchdown drive against TCU last weekend.
