DALLAS — Police said an argument over an upcoming World Cup soccer match turned deadly at a party in East Oak Cliff early Sunday morning.

Senior Cpl. Gerardo Monreal said four men arrived at the party in the 3200 block of Nebraska Avenue shortly after 3 a.m. and began quarreling with others about the international sporting event.

One man got so upset, Monreal said, that he went to his vehicle, got a gun, and opened fire, killing  17-year-old Raul Santoyo and Luis Santoyo-Vega, 28.

A struggle ensued, and the 28-year-old gunman fired several other shots, police said, one of which hit the shooter in his leg.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center for treatment. His name was not released.

Monreal said detectives were interviewing witnesses at the party.
