ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Recycling centers in North Carolina are collecting used vegetable oil to reuse as home heating fuel or as bio-diesel for cars.
Blue Ridge Biofuels says it's better for the environment, better for vehicles, and increases fuel security because it's a locally-made fuel that's not being shipped in from overseas.
The recycled product is compatible with all oil furnaces, and it's the same price as regular heating oil.
