Ultra-efficient solar car lets you laugh at gas prices

Imagine getting the equivilent of more than 2,300 miles per gallon in your car! Students at Purdue University have designed and built a vehicle with that capability.

Celeritas, the newest urban concept solar car, has solar cells on top that capture the sun's energy, which is converted into voltage that can be stored by batteries to power the motor.

If the car were to go on the market now, it would cost about $100,000... but at least you could wave as you passed all the people paying almost $4 a gallon for gasoline.
