In 2010, Vancouver set a high standard for sustainability in the Winter Olympic Games.

Now, London Olympic organizers have a plan to host the first truly sustainable games later this summer.

Food vendors in the main Olympic Park will use compostable packaging made mainly from starch and cellulose-based bio-plastics.

Coca-Cola plans to collect and recycle plastic bottles.

The fleet of 200 vehicles will be powered by either clean diesel or new varieties of BMW's electric-only cars.

And the basketball tournament will be played in a venue that can be dismantled and reused after the games are over.
