In the South, it’s customary to hand guests a refreshing beverage at the door when they arrive for a visit or special party. This delicious and refreshing iced tea recipe with a hint of clove, fresh fruit juices and mint is a perfect choice! Ingredients: 1 orange 20 whole cloves 4 large mint sprigs 2 tea bags 3 cups boiling water 1 cup ice water 1 cup fresh orange juice ½ cup fresh lemon juice ½ cup fresh lime juice 1 cup pineapple juice ½ cup brown sugar (packed) Ice cubes Directions: Stud orange with whole cloves in three bands then cut into three sections. Place in heat proof pitcher along with mint sprigs and tea bags. Add boiling water and let steep 10 minutes then remove tea bags. Add ice water, orange, lemon, lime and pineapple juices then stir in brown sugar until dissolved. Chill mixture. Serve over ice, with springs of mint and fresh fruit for garnish preferably on your front porch. Makes 8 glasses of Southern Spiced Tea.
