The SoupMobile is putting up 500 homeless men, women and children at the downtown Dallas Omni hotel for Christmas and we need your help getting the word out for 2,500 volunteers!
The SoupMobile is a mobile soup kitchen that feeds and shelters the homeless. Founded in 2003 by David Timothy, a.k.a., The SoupMan, we serve over 200,000 meals per year to the homeless on the Dallas' South side. In 2009 we started SoupMobile Village, our supportive housing program for the homeless. Combined with other programs and agencies, SoupMobile Village takes homeless men, women and children off the streets and returns them to contributing members of their communities. SoupMobile Village is a "Hand UP, not a hand out".
Every year at Christmas the SoupMobile takes 500 homeless men, women and children right off the streets of Dallas and puts them up a world class hotel. They all receive new clothes, fabulous gifts, lots of love and we throw a huge banquet for them and in their honor. Most important is that when they wake up on Christmas morning it’s in a warm safe bed at wonderful hotel.
It is the 8th Annual Celebrate Jesus Christmas event and it will be held at the spectacular downtown Dallas Omni Hotel. 2,000 years ago there was ‘No Room at the Inn’ for baby Jesus. This year with your help we will make ‘Room at the Inn’ for 500 of the ones Jesus called the ’least of these.’
