SHERON PATTERSON/ LEARNING TO PERSEVERE
Have a good support system- you must surround yourself with people who believe in you and your dreams. Make yourself accountable to them, so they will not let you quit.
Shake off the critics- put on some Teflon and let the negative comments slide off. These comments are distracting and pull you away from your goal.
Get a mentor/coach- you need guidance from someone who has been this way before. Find a person who will devote time to talk and counsel you in a positive way.
Reframe failures-you will have failures and disappointments along the way. Look at them differently. Instead of seeing a problem, see a potential to learn about yourself and how to improve. With a good attitude, your set back, can be a set up for your come back.
Visualize your success. If you can see it, you can be it. Practice seeing yourself as a winner and an achiever. Tell yourself,” I am a winner” every day.
