DALLAS CORINTHIAN YACHT CLUB 57TH ANNUAL FLAGHIP REGATTA

http://www.dcyc.org/

The Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club (DCYC) is pleased to host its 57th Annual flagship regatta under the new banner, The Corinthian Heritage Cup Regatta, May 10-12, 2013.

For the past 11 years, DCYC has hosted the Leukemia Cup, North Texas’ premier fundraising regatta. This regatta was recognized by both PHRF racers and one-design racers as a top venue to compete because of its central location, vast grounds for camping and RVs, racecourses with top-notch Principal Race Officers and Official Judges, entertainment, and ample food and beverages.

Beginning this year, the name has changed but the fun and sailing-for-a-cause remain. Fundraising will benefit our local community and all proceeds from the annual regatta will go to a designated local organization. This year the event will benefit the Dallas Corinthian Educational Fund (DCEF), a Texas 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supporting DCYC’s Junior Sailing Program and Summer Camp Program.

DCYC’s Junior Sailing Program has tripled in size since it was reinvigorated in 2011. This is a testament to the young sailors, coaches and DCYC board who are committed to building a model inland sailing instruction program for children of members and non-members alike. Several junior sailors (known as the Aqua Monkeys) are actively competing in the Texas Sailing Circuit (TSA). Part of the funds raised will make available two open scholarships for the Summer Camp, a one-week sailing camp for kids ages 8 to 15. The scholarships are for participants who come from economically disadvantaged families.

.

Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club is a member-owned and member-run inland sailing club serving the Dallas and North Texas area. Established in 1956 on the north shore of Lake Lewisville, DCYC is a member of the Texas Sailing Association. For more information go to http://www.dcyc.org/.
