With a new website – women nationwide are now able to access the Carrie Bradshaw closet for a fraction of the price. Jenn Hyman and Jenny Fleiss, co-founders of Rent the Runway, launched the company after dreaming up the idea at Harvard Business School. Now 9 months into the business, and 500,000 members later, women are able to RENT the hottest designer dresses – Herve Leger, Matthew Williamson, Nicole Miller, and Badgley Mischka (among others) – for 10% of the retail cost for either 4 or 8 days. And to make sure the dress fits? Rent the Runway sends you two sizes, along with paid postage (a la Netflix) so it’s as easy as putting in an envelope and popping in the mail.

All of the clothing is from Ming Wang Knits (, which is carried by stores such as Nordstrom and Dillard’s
A recent survey revealed that most women wear only 10 percent of their clothing 90 percent of the time, which means most of us have a closet full of clothes that are rarely worn! For many women, those clothes collect dust because they are not the right size or they simply do not fit in a flattering way. However, selecting clothes that fit properly can increase your confidence and make you appear at least 10 pounds lighter. Amy Sewell from Shop with Style is back with some ideas for helping slim down our wardrobes.
•           The Perfect Suit. Choose a jacket with small pads to define your shoulders and a waist that is slightly fitted. Pants with a flat front and slightly-flared legs will minimize the tummy, and A-line skirts offer good camouflage for fuller hips and thighs.
•           Skim, Not Skin. Clothing should skim your curves, so look for fabrics that drape in a flattering way. Heavy fabrics will hide your shape, while super-sheer fabrics and spandex reveal a little too much.
•           Keep It Monochromatic. Wearing the same color from head to toe creates the illusion of one long, unbroken line, making you appear slimmer. Think neutrals such as grey, camel, cream, and black.
•           Smooth Foundations. Wear pants and skirts with built-in shape wear, such as SlenderSize bottoms from Ming Wang Knits, to smooth and contour without adding extra layers of shape wear underneath.
•           Fit Is Key. Buy clothing that actually fits your body. Anything too large or too small will make you look heavier than you are. You won't fool anyone by stuffing yourself into a smaller size or hiding your body under loose fabric.
