Are you protecting your eyes for the winter months? Bobby Dean from N3L Optics runs down the checklist of what you need in your sunglasses and what are some of the latest trends in eyewear. N3L Optics is located in NorthPark Center in Dallas.
‘Sunglass Buying Tips & Trends For Winter”
If you’re more active in sports your needs are going to be different than someone who just needs glasses for driving or everyday wear. But if I had to narrow it down to 3 features that everyone should look for in a pair of sunglasses I’d say stick to the 3 C’s - Coverage, Comfort, and Clarity.
Coverage – sunglasses are a necessity because they protect one of our most vital senses—our vision, but they’re not going to be as effective unless they fully cover your eyes. To get the best coverage from the sun and other elements look for a wrapped back design. More wrap means more coverage.
Comfort – if your glasses aren’t comfortable than you’re not going to wear them, so make sure you try on lots of styles to compare the fit. Look for lightweight yet durable frame materials and pay attention to the lens tint to make sure the color is soothing to your eyes.
Clarity - The old saying of you get what you pay for is very true when it comes to the optical clarity of your sunglasses, so avoid cheaper rack sunglasses because they have optical distortion that can lead to eye fatigue or headaches. Play it safe and stay with trusted brands that manufacture their glasses out of optically pure lens materials and utilize patented lens technologies that enhance optical clarity and comfort.
