Good Nutrition should be accessible to everyone and the Dallas Farmer's Market is making that happen.

Debbie Bozeman-Zook, board chairperson for the Dallas Farmer's Market Friends has the details on the new program and how it will benefit a larger portion of the community. Farmers are now allowing Supplemental Assistance Program (SNAP) participants to purchase fresh fruit, vegetables and even meats using their EBT debitlike cards.

Participants with SNAP can use their EBT cards to purchase tokens. Those tokens, worth $1 can then be used to purchase fresh food from farmers and ranchers at the market. The tokens must be purchased at the Dallas Farmer's Market Friends office located on the grounds.

This new program start last weekend.
