After The Weeknd cancels, different artist will 'Usher' in post-F1 celebrations

AUSTIN - After The Weeknd canceled his performance at the Circuit of the Americas this month, the venue announced Wednesday that a new performer will "Usher" in the post-race celebrations.

COTA announced that Usher joined by The Roots will headline the post-race concert on Oct. 23 while Taylor Swift will play on Oct. 22 at the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix.

In a press release from COTA, The Weeknd singer expressed regret for his cancelation.

"It is with sincere regret that I am not able to perform at the 2016 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix this year," he said. "Playing a show for F1 is an incredible opportunity and I am absolutely certain that Taylor Swift and Usher & The Roots will provide all F1 fans with two unforgettable concerts."
