DALLAS - International House of Blues Foundation's Nazanin Fatemian joined News 8 Daybreak Wednesday morning to share details on the donation of musical instruments from the organization to a local school.
Fatemian said the donation is just one among many to be made this fall.
"We're actually donating to eight music programs across the city this semester," she said. "And, nationwide we'll be donating over a quarter of a million dollars to communities across the country."
A drum kit, bass, guitar, amps and keyboard are among the instruments to be donated Thursday through IHOBF's Action for the Arts program.
"The instruments you see here will actually be donated by our team tomorrow to O W Holmes Middle School in Oak Cliff to revitalize their jazz band program that in recent years has lacked the funding to thrive," Fatemian said.
Fatemian also gave Daybreak's Brian Glenn a tour of the Foundation Room at the House of Blues in Dallas. Members get access to the Foundation Room bar and dining area, along with other entertainment benefits. A portion of the fee paid by members goes directly to the International House of Blues Foundation, which helps fund community programs such as Action for the Arts.
