FLOWER MOUND -— Voters in Flower Mound approved a $16 million bond project along with the creation of a Public Improvement District. This allows the city to move forward with its river walk project.

“The fact that it passed with such numbers, it proves the fact that Flower Mound is coming together,” said Mehrdad Moayedi with Centurion American, the developer behind the project.

The creation of a PID allows the developer to levy assessments on the river walk property, and revenue generated would go to future economic development.

Crews are already working to divert water from three surrounding ponds to form the modest river. The project spans 158 acres just north of FM 1171, west of Morriss Road, and east of FM 2499.
