This Week on Good Morning Texas (September 12 - September 16)

Monday, September 12th: It’s the countdown to the ballroom! GMT talks to “Dancing with the Stars” competitors Marilu Henner and Disney Star Jake T. Austin. Marilu has a deep connection with Texas. Plus we talk about how former Texas Governor Rick Perry has been doing in dance practices. Then he was known as the smartest goalie in the NHL, retired Dallas Star Marty Turco drops by to tell us all about a walk to raise funds in the battle against Juvenile Diabetes. Plus UnitedHealthcare has everything you need to know about Medicare week, and how to make sure you’re covered. Paige McCoy Smith is sharing the inspiring story of how a blind 9-11 survivor made it out alive by the help of his guide dog. Then gospel singer, actress and North Texas native, Tamela J. Mann will start our week with a moving performance on the GMT stage… Monday at 9 a.m.  

 

Tuesday, September 13th: Reese Witherspoon has a new clothing line full of the grace and charm of the South. Now a new store has opened in North Texas with her Draper James collection, and GMT is checking it out. Have you ever heard of a petrified wood gas station? It’s real and in Decatur, TX! Then Paige McCoy Smith is visiting the famous gas station and the Whistle Stop Café right next door. Soy milk, almond milk, skim milk, which to choose! With so many milk options available, how do you know which is best for your health? A dietitian breaks down the pros and cons of milk alternatives. The dynamic world famous Dallas String Quartet has a special serenade for GMT. It’s BluRay Tuesday! Find out how you could win a copy of “Captain America: Civil War”… Tuesday at 9 a.m.

 

Wedneday, September 14th: Founding member of the Beach Boys, Mike Love joins GMT live to chat about his fascinating new book, “Good Vibrations: My Life as a Beach Boy.” Fare Compare joins us with the best airfare deals for a Fall Escape or to visit relatives over the holidays. Ever wonder how barista’s make those fun drawings in lattes? Paige is live at Fourteen Eighteen Coffeehouse in Plano where they specialize in latte art and coffee bean flavored ice cubes. Then new wines, new vendors and new bands at the 30th Annual GrapeFest four-day festival. It’s all Wednesday at 9 a.m.

 

Thursday, September 15th: Former professional boxer Oscar De La Hoya and boxer Tecate Chicas are here to talk about an upcoming boxing battle in Dallas! Plus comedian and former contributor for “After Chelsea” is here with the scoop on her North Texas performances. Remember child star, Mara Wilson from films like “Mrs. Doubtfire” and “Matilda.” She joins us to talk about life as a child star and her new book. Get your Prost on! The most authentic Oktoberfest outside of Europe is in Addison. We sample the German food, entertainment and of course, polka dancing! One Book, One City! Then the struggle is real for women in Texas to have fabulous hair in the humidity, but with the help of Dallas based hairstyling collection company, Fave 4, you’re sure to look red carpet ready. We look at their top selling hair sprays for humid Texas days. Then Paige McCoy Smith went behind the scenes of Southwest Airlines flight attendants over the years.
