I'm really worried I'm about to sound like an old man here.
But how is it that we have grown so casual about our foul language that our own vice president can use the Mother of All Cuss Words on live TV and everyone just kinda shrugs it off?
This week, Joe Biden leaned into the rather large presidential ear and declared, "This is a big blanking deal!" at the health care reform signing party.
Joe Biden said the "F-word" in front of an open microphone and we act like he's salt of the earth rather than a drunk uncle who just fell face-first into the groom's cake.
So Teddy Roosevelt gave us the square deal; FDR gave us the New Deal; and now Joe Biden has given us the the Big Blanking Deal?
Even White House press secretary Robert Gibbs chest-bumped the VP by Tweeting: "And yes, Mr. Vice President, you're right..."
What's going on? No condemnation or distancing?
I'm no prude. I cuss like a sailor sometimes, but this was the vice president of the United States introducing the president introducing one of the biggest life-changing pieces of legislation in our lifetime.
No F- bombs! Leave that for the Republicans who just failed to stop it.
I know what you are thinking: "Gordon -- big blanking deal."
OK. Unlike Biden, I know when to shut up.
I'm Gordon &$#*@ Keith. Salt of the earth.
