WFAA.com users have responded with shock to the news of the death of singer Whitney Houston at age 48. Here are some of their comments:


MARY GALLOWAY-THOMPSON:  "What a sad commentary on drug addiction and the toll it takes on families. God bless her children."

SILLIA SAVAGE:  "I'm crying. I loved... loved her... sooo talented and the 1st diva I came to know and love. We never know the internal battles we all face. We have to find strength to overcome. But the power of your voice and the legacy of your music I will forever remember. Thank you for sharing your journey."

RAUL ESPARZA VASQUEZ:  "What!!!! Gosh. I pray for her family. A beautiful woman with a remarkable voice. May God please watch over her."

HANNAH NARKON:  "I am devastated! RIP Whitney! May you fill heaven with your angelic voice!"

RENITA RENAE SPOTSER: "This woman's songs and her voice taught me how to use my voice. I used to sing her songs before school, at lunch, after school... whenever I could. RIP Whitney. Thank you for all that you gave us in your songs, your music, and your presence."
