PLANO — Addison has Kaboomtown.

Fort Worth celebrates Mayfest.

And Grapevine is best known for Grapefest.

Now, Plano is looking to be identified with a big event: The Suburbia Music Festival.

Its debut is drawing thousands to Oak Point Nature this weekend, just off Spring Creek Parkway and Jupiter Road.

The two-day live music festival kicked off on Saturday with more than two dozen acts rocking three stages this weekend.

Suburbia is expected to attract tens of thousands of people. Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere told News 8 he hopes this becomes an annual event, spotlighting the city.
