We've heard a lot today about Paula Deen losing yet another big endorsement from Smithfield Foods.
But not everyone is abandoning the Southern cooking icon.
News 8 caught up with Deen at the first Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show in Dallas last September. On Monday, the show confirmed Deen will be back this September — despite being caught in that scandal over a racial slur.
A statement from the show called her a friend for many years.
"She has apologized and we are taking her apology at her word and moving forward accordingly," the statement said. "This is a nation of forgiveness and second chances."
Deen will continue to be a "presenter" at the MetroCooking show on September 21-22 in Dallas and at similar events in Houston and Washington, D.C.
