DALLAS - You may have heard the rumors Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki got married.
As it turns out, once wasn't enough. Nowitzki is getting married three times.
The third ceremony is somewhere in the Caribbean Wednesday, with family. But Nowitzki and his bride, Jessica Olsen, needed a valid license for the marriage.
So State District Judge Craig Smith confirmed he officially married the two at Nowitzki's Preston Hollow home on July 20. Smith and his wife got a photo with the happy couple, and called it a warm ceremony, where tears flowed.
"We really did the traditional ceremony, where I did most all the talking and they did most of the 'I do's,' Smith said. "I think they probably saved their special vows for [Wednesday.]"
A few weeks ago, international newspaper pictures turned up claiming to show Nowitzki's wedding in Kenya. Judge Smith said that was a symbolic wedding celebration for the couple, but the Dallas ceremony is the legal one.
