For the first time in 20 years Mrs. Texas was crowned Mrs. America 2013.

Austen Williams is a wife, mother of two small children, student and has a career in the entertainment business. She said the challenge and threat of putting on a swimsuit helped her reclaim her figure and win the fitness competition at Mrs. Texas.

Williams’ platform is human trafficking awareness. She said it is a crime often looked at as “someone else problem”. She has appeared in a film titled “8 Days” which portrays the true story of a Dallas girl who was kidnapped and trafficked for 8 day before she was rescued.

Mrs. America will represent the United States at the Mrs. World pageant in Bulgaria in May 2014.
