DALLAS – Fair Park was quickly filling up with high-profile chefs, food trucks and nearly everything arts and crafts Friday morning.

The 26th annual Taste of Dallas kicked off Friday afternoon.

North Texans can expect to see a variety of activities, including eating contests, jump rope teams in action and even a chance to zip line three stories off the ground.

For the adults, there is a new Taste Tavern features a beer and wine tasting. But, even with dozens of activities, there's no doubt the focus will be on the food.

“When you come out to Taste of Dallas, you can try so many of the area’s best restaurants for just $1, $2 or $3 dollars," said Rachel Hedstrom, a spokeswoman for Taste of Dallas. "You can try a menu item there, something healthy, something sinful and delicious, whatever floats your boat. You don’t have to drive all around North Texas to experience the best of what we have, it’s all right here at Taste of Dallas.”

Also, visitors can look for an all-new "Taste Curbside," featuring food trucks.

Taste of Dallas starts at 4 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $8. Children under 12 get in free.
