CEDAR HILL - Dozens of North Texas women are getting ready for a 5K run unlike any before. The goal isn't to be the fastest or to beat the competition. It’s to get messy in the mud.
It’s all part of Saturday’s “Dirty Girl Mud Run”. Mud crawls and inflatable obstacles are scattered across Cedar Hill State Park. On Friday, News 8 watched several local women try to make it through one of the challenges. A portion of the money raised goes to help the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
"In addition to the support we get from these wonderful ladies who are coming out in the mud, to support Dirty Girl and the National Breast Cancer Foundation, it's partnerships with these great organizations like the Dirty Girl Mud Run that we are able to grow out programs every year through their donations,” Susan Morales, with the National Breast Cancer Foundation, explained.
There is still time to sign up, but remember: No men. This one is for women only.
