FORT WORTH — There's a settlement in an artistic stand-off in Fort Worth.
The issue was a 10-foot sculpture of a Mexican cowboy, or "vaquero." The city commissioned the piece and planned to install it in the Stockyards district, but never approved the gun which is part of the design.
The artists added it after learning that guns were indeed a part of vaquero culture.
It has now been decided that the sidearm will stay.
The artists will provide two plaques with educational and donor information.
