A memorial service is set for Saturday afternoon for a beloved member of the WFAA family, Jerry Haynes, better known to many as "Mr. Peppermint."

The TV pioneer, longtime children's show host and accomplished actor died Monday from complications of Parkinson's disease.

The memorial will be Saturday afternoon at 3:30 at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, 9200 Inwood Road, in Dallas.

The public is invited.

Haynes' family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Lone Star EMMY Educational Foundation, P.O. Box 192393, Dallas, Texas 75219.
