DALLAS — The graduating class at Paul Quinn College received a special gift on Saturday: A commencement speech from legendary humorist Bill Cosby.
Cosby, 75, told the students that striving for excellence doesn't end with a diploma... in fact, it is only beginning
"You are in the middle of the civil rights movement, because it is not anywhere near done," Cosby said. "As you see, being able to sip a cup of coffee or ride the bus hasn't done much. It's on us now. What are we doing? Speak up!"
Wearing a blue "PQC" baseball cap with a tassel, Cosby also gave the graduates of the historically black college a bit of a history lesson, reminding them that their big day was made possible because of the struggles of the generations who preceded them.
